Since 1854, James Publishing and Signs has been putting ink on paper.

The technology may have changed since our inception, but our reputation for honesty, integrity and commitment to customer service has not.

To meet the varied demands in the graphics industry, we have added the latest in wide format print and production equipment to our 7,000 square foot facility. Our staff is able to produce outstanding, high quality projects from concept to completion.

We regularly facilitate projects for the commercial, private and military sectors providing the highest level of customer service, technical knowledge and innovation strategies for capturing new opportunities.

1854

The Messenger newspaper is purchased by Rev. John M. Climie and his son, W. R. Climie and is renamed The Canadian Statesman.

1878

The Canadian Statesman is purchased by Moses A. James

1919

Moses A. James takes two of his sons, Norman and George into partnership and the company becomes M. A. James & Sons.

1929

Norman James passes away at age 47 and his wife, Lena, becomes a silent partner.

1947

Norman’s son, John M. James becomes a partner with George W. James.

1957

John M. James becomes sole owner of the business and renames it James Publishing Company Limited.

1981

John M. James’ son, Rick, becomes a partner with his father.

1999

The Canadian Statesman newspaper is sold to Metroland Printing and Publishing to expand the digital services of James Printing.

1999

John M. James passes away and Rick becomes the sole owner of James Publishing Company Limited.

2009

James Publishing purchases several sign companies in the area to become James Printing and Signs.

2013

Rick’s daughter, Morgan, joins the business and becomes the 5th generation to manage the family business.

2019

James Printing and Signs moves from its original location on King Street West to Lake Road, allowing the company to expand its print and signage services again.
